Reducing Emissions: Clean Cookstoves in Malawi
For orders between $100 and $188.99, we offset 5kg of carbon emissions through a UNFCCC-registered clean cookstove project in Malawi.Many households rely on traditional three-stone fires for cooking, which contribute to deforestation and harmful indoor smoke exposure. The “Changu Changu Moto” cookstove program:
- Saves up to 2.5 tonnes of carbon per stove annually
- Reduces wood consumption significantly
- Cuts indoor air pollution
- Saves families hours each week spent collecting firewood
With more than 40,000 cookstoves distributed, the program benefits over 200,000 people while delivering verified emissions reductions.
Fighting Climate Change: Mangrove Restoration in Kenya
For orders of $189 or more, we fund the planting of one mangrove tree through our partners at Greenspark and EarthLung in Mteza Creek near Mombasa, Kenya.
Mangroves are among the most powerful natural carbon sinks on Earth, capturing carbon at rates up to four times higher than tropical rainforests. They also:
- Protect coastlines from erosion and storm surges
- Provide habitat for wildlife
- Support local fisheries
- Generate employment in coastal communities
